Chronic Pain Disorders
I have specialized in the treatment of all types of Chronic Pain Disorders since 1988. With the goal of improved functioning as well as reduced pain, each patient receives a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan that includes treatment of symptoms often related to chronic pain disorders, such as nausea, constipation, insomnia, fatigue, anxiety, and loss of interest or pleasure in one’s usual activities.
Physical treatments, medication management, and counseling for stress management & lifestyle adjustment are the components of a comprehensive treatment plan, which is often more effective than individual treatments that have been tried in the past.
I strive to work with both the patient and supportive family to carefully monitor both benefits and side effects of all treatments. The goals of treatment include not only feeling better physically, but also feeling better emotionally, and being better able to function in those life roles that are most important to the patient, such as parent, spouse, social, leisure, and work.
